It has a melting point of 690 C, and a boiling point of 1,750 C. An effective way to prepare Vanadium pentoxide involves the decomposition of ammonium metavanadate at 500 - 550 C. While it is stable under general conditions, this reagent is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents.
