Wool alcohol by Research Lab Fine Chem Industries is a high grade reagent. Also known as Acetylated lanolin alcohol and sheep alcohol, this is a non-drying organic compound. For the production of this compound, lanolin, the fat of wool shearings, is reacted with acetic acid and a small amount of lye. While there are synthetic variants available, the natural product is preferred for its anti-allergenic tendencies. The compound is stable under general conditions, however, it is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents.
