Zinc chromate by Research Lab Fine Chem Industries is a high grade reagent. This inorganic compound is a chromate derivative of zinc. The reagent is available as a yellow to green coloured powder which is insoluble in water. It has a melting point of 316 C, and a boiling point of 732 C. Zinc chromate can be generated by adding zinc or a zinc plated metal in a solution of sodium dichromate and sulphuric acid for a few seconds, referred to as the cronak process. The compound is stable under general conditions, however, it is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents. CAS No.: 13530-65-9 Quantity Provided: 500 gm per bottle Molecular formula: ZnCrO4 Molecular formula: 181.40 Assay: Minimum 98 %Zinc chromate has a variety of applications in chemical and biological sectors. This compound finds applications in the organic synthesis of various compounds. It is majorly used as a coating over iron or aluminium materials in industrial paintings. Previously it was a useful coating due to it being anti-corrosive and an anti-rust primer. It is referred to as Zinc Yellow, Buttercup Yellow or Yellow 36, when used as a pigment. This reagent is suitable for industrial synthesis of products and research applications.
